Down below Scandal might be described as semi open plan the space being
broken up by the main bulkhead (and a curtain) without actually being
separate cabins. This is typical of the original layout of many of the Tamarisks
though there are several variations.

The galley area. We do not have a fitted gas cooker as we
use a portable camping type cooker. |

| A piece of varnished ply serves as a work surface... |
and the other way up as a base of the cooker (there are lugs
to locate the feet). Usually, if it is not raining we cook outside. |
The cooker and gas was removed at the suggestion of our our purchase
survey. We bought a portable camping cooker to use for our first season and
found it so easy and safe to use that we kept it and have not refitted the gas
system. It also has the advantage of making space to carry a cool box when
overnighting or for longer weekends which is very useful.
