| Dido apparently started life in the late twenties as the tender to a steam yacht on the East Coast. In the fifties she was converted to sail. She was decked and had a centreplate fitted to the side of the keel. The mast is stepped well forward giving the gunter sail a long boom. She has been in our sailing club for many years though we have only been looking after her for a relatively short while. She sails surprisingly well and has had a couple of class wins at the annual Swallows and Amazons rally hosted by the East Coast Old Gaffers Association.
We have also taken her to Poole Harbour for a couple of summer holidays. She is ideal for exploring the harbour, rowing up the river and enjoying grog and chocolate in true Swallows and Amazons style.
